Poland one week The Netherlands the next...

Transgendered Film Fest Amsterdam

Trannies and queers from all over the world flocked to Amsterdam for a a wicked line up of transfilms and discussion panals. Trans parenting, trans porn, trans politics, trans performance, trans photography and trans (P?)queer experiences... I was amazed at the infrasturction and support for such an event, if only Australia could have been there. Maybe theres a way...

Warsaw CSD - Gay Pride

It was only 2 years ago that it became legal for the Gay pride March to be held in the capital of Poland Warsaw.I had been warned prior to going that there would be many nazi,s and opppositional demonstrators. Numerous poeple had retold the story of how last year a German person was imprisoned at the demonstration. But in my experience i wondered what could have happened to imprison someone because it felt so peace loving a rainbow flag happy! There where of course oppositional demonstrators that the police kept seperated. For met The demonstration felt a little a-political and now that the gay and lesbian comunity can be out and proud on one day of the year and the rest of the year earn the pink dollar they are happy But i,m sure for many Polish queeers they are enjoying every smll success against the heavily catholic and right wing nation... so i was totally happy to celebrate and support them... I guess this is an instance where the EU has been able to make countries accountable for discrimnation and prejudice(?)

when i die, you must dance!

Hier steh ich schwankend auf dem Tisch. Was die Leute denken, interessiert mich nicht.
Und ich sing vom Leben. Sing vom Tod.Durch das Fenster schimmert das Abendrot.Heyo. Hey das Glas in der Hand.Zerspringen soll es gleich an der Wand. Was soll das Jammern. Mir ist nicht bang.Wenn der Sensemann bittet zum letzten Tanz.

Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.

Keine halben Sachen. Denn da läuft die Uhr.Heut soll keiner klagen. Lieber mal was wagen.
Bis der Sensemann bittet zum letzten Tanz.

Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen.

Nochmal Wasser des Lebens an der Liebesbar.
Und schon war es das hier unten. Alles klar.Doch von da oben lässt es sich gut loben.Hallelulia. Alles wunderbar.Heyo. Hey die Zeit verrinnt.
Und ich geniess es. Wenn der Himmel swingt.Vergib dem Leben. Vergib dem Tod.Über den Wolken schimmert das Abendrot.

Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen. Tanzen.
Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Wenn ich tot bin. Dann sollst du tanzen.

"kings queens and for all those in between!"

so performing with the Kings of Berlin, Spicey Tigers on Speed, singers, spoken word, monologues and other perfect pink fun things. i though oh no im not sure what... after having had such a long break from performance and inspiration was lost. i think now i am finding a place for something new and exciting. and whats more after seeing so much progressive and bizarre performance and arts i think i will soon find again my i would like to put myself on stage.

As i evolve from the 18 year old who first performed to Shannon Noll i think instead of rejecting (oder refusing) to peform anymore i am enjoying having the time and spce to re-think about why i want to put my body on stage. What do i want to get out of it and what do i want the audiance to see. After my show i was asked to perform at the Queers Against G8 benefit gig, and i thought cool i can bring the issues of globalisationa nd capiltalism into my drag and was totally excited and inspired to do so...(but i am going to Queer Pride in Poland that weekend) but atleast i am realising that the stage is a place where i can express myself and there will be mroe opportunties in the future.

Komische Oper Berlin NICHT Deustch Oper

This my street when i was coming home from Uni yesterday evening. a beautiful sky to ease the non event and unproductive day that was my Monday. well after the weekend i just had its understandable i missed my class and didn,t acheive anything for was planned...

Queer Fest was great. It was dominated a lot by international artists which was cool, performers from Danemark and the states... and some local acts but i would liked to have seen more, but since i,ll be here for a year i got plenty of time. Film night was good, but it just made me want to screen "Chillout With The Matchbox Boys", so i,m going to look into it. Spicey Tigers on Speed are a performance troupe from Berlin and they where great. lots of pink vibes... Saturday night was xTrash Freeex Kaberet, being a fan of trash. i had a blast!

Then Sunday we went to Premiere of The Opera "Iphigenie auf Tauris" .. and i hereby vow to never go to the operea without researching the story because i had no idea what was going on... of course i could figure some parts out but i missed out on all the subtleties. But it was the story of two men who love each other so much they fight over who will die for the other, so the story was queer and therefore so was the crowd! there was a queer couple dressed in matching fabulous pink and frilly dress. It was good to see opera in sung Deutsch and the props where pretty amazing, it was heavily war themed and made blatant references to US troops scandel of torture, this was very cool. BUt so graffic with blood and realistic props that i felt quite queasy and uncomfortable... but i guess war is never "comfortable".

DykeTrans 101

i attended my first meeting for the collective for the Dyke Trans march 07 yesterday. it felt really good to get involed in some activism and meet cool be people who are really progressvie. there was a a long discussion about who can be invovled in the working porject and therefore what is the aim and focus of the rally. This was perfect for me to see where these people are coming from and what they want to acheive, and also have a bit of a brief into the process invovled in campaigns and also the deabtes that are going on within the left queer scene here.
it is a dyke trans community based project that aims to address that fact that within queer communties sexism and transphobia is prevalent. Which is also the case in Melbourne. The difference here is that this is a group which stems not only from the mainstream gltbi community but also from the left-queer scene, which predominantly deals with broader politics. also now i hope when i go to cool queer events there will be some familiar faces!
